It’s Wednesday again, so it’s time for another glimpse into how the other (crafty) half lives. Head on over to Julia’s place to see wonderful glimpses into other crafters work stations.
I’m actually rather pleased with myself this week, I’ve managed to keep on top of the mess! I know, it’s a shock, it’s shocking to me too!
There’s plenty of stuff still on my desk, mostly because it’s waiting to be altered and I’m afraid if I put it away, I may never get around to working on them. The old chocolate tins are in various stages of being altered, and are currently holding odd die cuts, tissue wrap and bits of grunge. The glass jars are still patiently awaiting my attention.
There’s some grunge covered in Crackle Paint drying in the corner, and a wooden cigar box waiting to be painted.
Regular readers (I love you guys!) will know that I have a penchant for dying my hair daft colours, well I’ve changed colour again. I took this picture yesterday in a moment of ever elusive sunshine, which explains the sunglasses rather than simply being me having a rock star moment! Hah!

LOVe the hair – never brave enough when I was young, too old – or not old enough 🙂 – now. Maybe when I am 80 I’ll dye it purple and embarass my kids LOL!

Love your hair – wish I had been a bit more brave when younger but not sure red would go with my skintone now. Your desk is very tidy this week, seems to be a theme that is, for me, impossible to follow.

Ooh lovely colour – Miss D’s favourite at the mo – she’s on about the fifth month..I think she loves how striking it is. Certainly works for you! Your desk is a bit unnerving, reassuring to read that the jars and boxes are waiting for you…makes me feel normal again! How often you use that cute machine?

Honestly, not very. It’s a complete pain to re-thread and it doesn’t stitch paper well at all. It’s become more of a desk ornament to remind my husband that I’d like a better one. Haha!

Thanks for taking a peek at my desk! The hot glue gems, are about the easiest thing I’ve ever made! You just drop a round bit of hot glue onto a non stick craft mat and let it set up for an hour or two. Then peel up the pieces, put them in a Ziploc bag and drop a few drops of alcohol ink (I use the Tim Holtz/Ranger stuff) in with them. Mush things around until the ink gets on the glue, and take them back out of the baggie…you’re done! I’m going to start experimenting with trying to make different shapes next! I accidentally made a few teardrop shapes, and now the blue ones would make PERFECT raindrops on a layout!!

Very tidy desk! As for the hair – wacky and wonderful lol!! I’m in the process of lightening mine atm – it’s a long slow job but once it’s lighter I can then choose more different colours! At this in between stage I’ve got horrendous grey roots and the middle part is a nice soft light reddish colour, and the ends are still darker!! Lots of colour built up over the years that needs to come out.

I wish I could dye my hair interesting colours but my present job doesn’t really permit it as I’m supposed to be dull and not very interesting and wild hair/piercings/tattoos are frowned on. V dull. I see you have some serious ink too….
